Purchasing Assistant
Greater Leicester (LE10) - 3 days onsite / 2 days WFH (on site for training for the first month)
12 Month Contract - likely to extend for the right person!
Monday - Friday office hours, some flexibility around start and finish times if required
£15.54 PAYE hourly rate plus holiday and pension contribution OR Umbrella hourly rates up to £21.06
We’re looking for a Purchasing Assistant to use their administration experience to assist Buyers within a global manufacturing company in Greater Leicester (LE10). This is initially a 12 month contract, which is likely to extend for the right person!
We’re looking for a confident team player with experience in purchasing, who is eager to learn and thrives in a fast-paced environment - personality really will go a long way in this instance! What will the Purchasing Assistant do?
· Support Buyers with their purchasing administration requirements
· Varied work where every day is different, involved with many different categories & projects
· Daily PO management - approve purchase orders, review requisitions for goods and services
· Analyse financial reports, price proposals and other technical data
· Work with external suppliers to expedite material in urgent situations
What skills and experience will the Purchasing Assistant need?
· Purchasing Administration background - you’ll need to be able to provide admin support
· Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills - be able to clearly and confidently communicate with all parties
· Data Analytics: this is essential as you’ll analyse financial reports and price proposals
· Strong Excel skills (you need to be able to create pivot tables, v look ups, formulas)
· An Eye for detail: the ability to pay attention to detail and spot errors is a must
· Used to using MS Office suite. Knowledge of Coupa/Glovia/Power BI would be an advantage
· Supply Chain/purchasing experience would be an advantage
