Manufacturing Engineer

Peterlee

Initial 12 month contract, could be ongoing for the right person!

£27.70ph or £37.25 via an umbrella company depending on experience

We are looking for a driven Manufacturing Engineer to join a Global off-highway OEM.

In brief what you will do;

  • Develop, analyse, and manage manufacturing/Fabrication and Assembly Projects
  • Support the implementation of lean manufacturing principles and improvement initiatives
  • Administer the New Product Introduction (NPI) process
  • Engaging in creative problem solving to address operational issues
  • Working with internal and external suppliers to develop and manage projects
  • Provide the application, procurement, processing, installation and capability of new fabrication, material handling, test, heat treat, welding, painting and / or chemical processes and equipment.
  • Coordinate, plan, monitor and report the activities associated with the flow analysis, design, and financial modelling.

What we’re looking for from you as Manufacturing Engineer;

  • Demonstrable Project Management Skills including NPI project management, planning and delivery of projects
  • Understanding of heavy machinery, fixtures, and tool development
  • Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing principles to drive continuous improvement and maximize efficiency
  • Mechanical background – knowledge of mechatronics would be beneficial
  • Qualifications in the following would be beneficial;  CE / PUWER, Safety / Ergonomic, NEBOSH / IOSH
  • Expertise in flow analysis to optimize production processes and minimize waste
