Customs Administrator - Stafford (ST16) – Hybrid (2 days WFH/3 days Onsite)
Initial 6 month contract – potential to extend!
37 hours a week, early finish on a Friday! (08.00 - 16.30 Mon to Thurs, 08.00 to 13.00 on a Fri)
Up to £13.90 PAYE hourly rate plus holiday and pension contribution OR Umbrella hourly rates up to £18.65 (depending on experience)
We’re looking for a customs administrator for a global supplier of world class engines in Stafford, to handle daily import and customs activity with freight forwarders. You’ll ensure parts and product flow across international borders in compliance with customs/regulatory requirements.

Customs Administrator - Key Responsibilities
- Provide timely and accurate clearance instructions to Customs Brokers
- Management of relevant import documents, checking they’re correct/complete
- Calculation of accruing customs duties, ensure duty savings are obtained where appropriate
- Produce accurate records/logs/files of import documents for HMRC & Company audits
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders and maintain compliance metrics
- Report non-compliant cases and Coordinate classification requests
- Continuous improvement contributions by identifying areas of improvement
- Escalate relevant issues to Customs Compliance Supervisor
Customs Administrator - Key skills & experience required
- Essential experience in data driven administration work, attention to detail is a must!
- Confident with MS Office, especially Excel (basic formulas, pivot tables, formatting, charts)
- Great communicator & team player
- Self-starter with ability to work on own initiative, prioritise workload, and solve problems
- Desirable experience: import, export, customs documentation (incoterms, tariff codes etc)
