Junior Buyer

Desford (LE9)  – Hybrid (3 days onsite / 2 days WFH)

12 Month Contract – likely to extend for the right person!

37.5 hours a week (08:00 – 16.00 Mon - Fri)

Up to £17.33 per hour PAYE / Up to £23.50 per hour via an umbrella company

We’re looking for a Junior Buyer to join our globally renowned Fortune 100 client’s Manufacturing facility in Desford. You’ll be responsible for sourcing and selecting suppliers to provide parts of good quality, at a competitive price. This work is integral and has a large impact on the facility; we’re looking for an excellent communicator with a strong eye for detail! What will the Junior Buyer do?

  • Process requisitions and provide support for purchasing, supply chain, sourcing, cost, price analyses and contract/purchase order generation
  • Perform analytical and administrative tasks in support of purchasing strategic initiatives
  • Develop improvement plans to enable optimal efficient operations regarding Response Time, Lean Targets, Quality, Cost, Logistics, Development and Management (QCLDM)
  • Support customers projects with pricing information and supplier selection

What skills and experience will the Junior Buyer need?

  • Previous purchasing experience e.g. Purchasing Assistant/Junior Buyer would be ideal
  • Administration background - you’ll need to be able to provide administrative support as well as analyse financial reports and price proposals
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Strong Excel skills (create pivot tables, lookups, formulas), used to using MS Office programs
  • Data analytics is essential, as you’ll need to be able to understand and manage data
  • Attention to detail and takes accountability for their work
  • Supply Chain/purchasing experience would be an advantage
  • PowerBi experience/knowledge would be an advantage
